The Wii Motion Pluss accessory for the WiiRemote controller was announced during Nintendo’s E3 2008 press conference. It’s a tiny device that you need to plug in on the WiiRemote controller to have a true 1:1 response while playing games. The Wii Motion Plus technique still uses the accelerometer and the Wii’s sensor bar, and it provdes a very comprehensive tracking of your arm position and orientation to make games even more accessible. Even the smallest movement can be registered delivering a better game experience. This will developers to develop more games that can be played by casual gamers who aren’t familiar with video games.

The Wii MotionPlus device will be bundled with the upcoming Wii Sports Resort game from Nintendo, and it will be sold separately as well for those who don’t want Wii Sports Resort. Other games that will use Wii MotionPlus are EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 and Red Steel 2.
Wii MotionPlus has a pass-through expansion port in case you want to use the Nunchuk or Classic Controller while using the Wii MotionPlus. The Wii MotionPlus device extends the WiiRemote by approximately 1½ inches (4 cm). Because of that, Nintendo is adding a longer version of the Wii Remote Jacket with every Wii MotionPlus add-on.
